Our History
The expansion of PCU
Progressive Credit Union (PCU) was formed in 2013 with the transfer of Skerries and Donabate and District Credit Unions to Balbriggan Credit Union. Since then, PCU has continued to grow and expand.
In 2014, PCU grew further with two new branches from the transfer of Howth - Sutton Credit Union and the Victory Credit Union in Glasnevin. A year later, PCU expanded further with the transfer of Rivervalley & Rathingle Credit Union & Baldoyle Portmarnock Credit Union. With the closure of our Howth branch members can now avail of all services in our Baldoyle branch.
2017 saw PCU purchase premises in Rush, Co. Dublin, which was to become our seventh branch.
Covering areas in north Dublin and beyond
We define the areas we cover as our 'common bond'. At present, this consists of the following locations and surrounding areas; Baldoyle, Donabate, Glasnevin, Howth-Sutton, Portmarnock, Rush-Lusk, Skerries, Swords , and the greater Balbriggan area including Naul and Stamullen, Co. Meath.
We employ over fifty people across north Dublin and are governed by the board of directors and a board oversight committee.
